Part of a series of small paintings made during the pandemic as a way to connect to my mother who I was unable to visit. She grew up in Iran and introduced me to to the worlds of art & fashion. I asked her to choose a Persian artwork with a color-palette that spoke to her. She picked a red tapestry. I riffed on the deep colors, so different than my normal palette, and these paintings happened.
